The Cajuns came up to bat in the bottom of the fourth inning leading Northwestern State 3-2 and begin the big inning with three straight singles from Ryan Wilson, Blake Trahan and Caleb Adams scoring two runs and ending the night for Demon's starter Zach mound.
Seth Harrison would draw a walk after the pitchiing change and Ryan Leonards would single to left driving in two more runs increasing the Cajuns lead to 7-2. Jace Conrad would follow Leonards single with an RBI double to right center scoring Harrison and was followed by Michael Strentz's 2-run triple to right center making it a 10-2 game.
Chase compton walked conntinuing the 9-run inning, before Strentz scored on a wild pitch. The final run would score on the an error by NSU shortstop Edwin Gomez, allowing Chase Compton to cross the plate.
NSU (3-1) was limited to just one run and four hits over the final five innings by a combined relief effort from Nick Zaunbrecher, Kendall Mayer and Ben Frith as the Cajuns coasted the rest of the way.
Cord Cockrell pitched two complete innings and held NSU to two runs off five hits in earning his second victory of the season. Matt Plitt followed with two scoreless innings to hold the Demons in check before the Cajuns erupted in the bottom of the fourth inning.
