The Hilltoppers fought through 19 turnovers an opponent shooting 56.0 percent for the win, as WKU is now 3-1 this season while Samford falls to 1-5. The win was WKU's eighth-straight non-conference victory at home, and WKU has now held nine-straight foes to fewer than 70 points.
George Fant followed T.J. Price in scoring production, as Fant recorded 17 points. The duo, along with Aaron Adeoye, led in rebounds with Fant tabbing seven and Price and Adeoye with four boards each.
The visitors had a trio of players with double-digit points. Isaiah Williams led with 15 while Tim Williams and Raijon Kelly had 11 and 10, respectively. Samford shot 56.0 percent from the floor while tabbing 42 points in the paint compared to WKU's 26.
Samford used an early 7-0 run to notch a 9-4 lead to open the first half. WKU then grabbed a 20-13 advantage after a Nigel Snipes three pointer and T.J. Price three-point play. The Bulldogs quickly closed the deficit to 30-28 after putting in six-straight points in 58 seconds. After a Samford three pointer knotted it at 31 apiece, T.J. Price had a three fall before the buzzer to lift WKU ahead at the half 34-31 lead. Price led all scorers in the half with 15 points off of 5-of-8 shooting, including two three pointers.
The Bulldogs rallied together a 12-0 spree for a 47-39 lead in the second half. However, Brandon Price came off the bench to add seven points, two steals and a rebound to help WKU to a 64-59 lead. A late three by Samford made it 64-62 with 22 seconds remaining, but 3-for-4 at the free throw line for the Hilltoppers as time went down sealed the win.
WKU closes out play in the Roundball Showcase Tuesday night at 6:00 (CT) at Marshall. The game will be broadcast on the radio on the Hilltopper IMG Sports Network, and there is no television for the game. After the game at Marshall, WKU returns home on Saturday, November 30 to play Eastern Illinois at 8:00 PM (CT). The game on the 30th is part of the Bowling Green Junior Women's Club Coats for Kids Drive, and fans are encouraged to bring a new coat to the game to donate to children in Bowling Green. In addition, the Party One Zone for Kids will be open in the upper concourse, as it will be every Saturday home game throughout the season.
