"Best of the Rest": Conference USA

The best 2014 Conference USA signees outside the top five classes.

In an upcoming mini-series, WKUInsider.com will detail our subjective take on the top five 2014 Conference USA recruiting classes.

Here's our opinion on the "Best of the Rest" from the other conference programs who just missed our top five.

Note: There is limited information available online on some signees, including many junior college prospects. This means unfortunately, some schools and signees may not get fair acknowledgment. This series is put together the best we can with the information provided.

UNC-Charlotte: Keyshawn Woods.

According to Conference USA's official list of signees (last updated May 5,) UNC-Charlotte only signed two in the 2014 class.

The best one looks to be 6-foot-4 shooting guard Woods, who reportedly chose the 49'ers over offers from Wichita State, Tulsa, and Houston among others.

Woods joins Chris Sandifer (UTEP) as one of two four-stars to sign with Conference USA schools.

Florida International: Larry Dennis

6-foot-9 power forward averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds per game at Sunrise Christian Academy.

"Larry, at 6-foot-9, has a unique skill set," said FIU head coach Anthony Evans, in a school press release. "Having the ability to drive to the basket, post up and shoot from the perimeter. It will be exciting to see the both of them in an FIU uniform."

Florida Atlantic: C.J Turman

The No. 28 center in the 2014 class, Turman signed with FAU after being released from his NLI to Tennessee when Cuonzo Martin left the program. Turman originally signed with Tennessee over several high-major offers.

Rice: Bishop Mency

6-foot-5 small forward averaged 10.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a senior, leading Chino Hills (California) to a 29-6 overall record.

UTSA: Christian Wilson

6-foot-2 guard chose the Roadrunners over several offers, including Southern Cal and Pittsburgh.
