Weather: As of Friday afternoon, weather.com projects a Partly Cloudy day, with a high of 76 degrees and low of 51.

Opponent roster highlights: Old Dominion senior quarterback Taylor Heinicke passed for 4,022 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior, after winning the Walter Payton Award (top player in FCS) as a sophomore. He's thrown for 1,815 yards and 18 touchdowns so far in 2014. ODU passes the ball almost as often as WKU does, with 56 percent of their play calls going through the air.

On defense, ODU seems to employ a 3-4 alignment, with three defensive linemen and 6-foot-5, 237-pound junior Andrew Everett at the "Stud" position. ODU allows 5.5 yards per rush, ranked No. 112 in FBS, so look for the Tops to possibly run the ball a bit more than usual to expose the Monarchs' weakness.

Stat of the week: Saturday starts what could be a fortuitous schedule stretch to help WKU towards bowl eligibility. ODU is ranked No. 105 in the latest F/+ rankings (link,) and two remaining opponents in UTEP and Army are ranked No. 110 and No. 121, respectively. The only other team WKU has played this season ranked lower than the top 100 is No. 111 Bowling Green, a team they beat 59-31 in their season opener.

Quote of the week: WKU head coach Jeff Brohm on the team’s mood this week: ”The mood’s actually been very positive, they’ve been very upbeat. They know what is ahead of us. We’ve just gotta go out, play the full 60 minutes, erase any doubt we have in our minds and just play hard and go for it.

"I think our guys will respond, they’ve had a good week of practice, I don’t think anyone’s too down even though obviously we’re ticked off. But you know, it is what it is, you’ve gotta deal with it and come out fighting, come out swinging, and I think our guys will do that."
