Trigg recaps recent WKU visit

Local standout's rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2014.

Glasgow running back Marquez Trigg has been on Western Kentucky's campus so many times now, he's lost track of the number.

He said his most recent visit, WKU's 66-51 win over Old Dominion, went very well.

"We watched the whole game," Trigg said. "I thought both teams played pretty good, glad we pulled it out.

"Great offense, they got a lot of weapons with Brandon Doughty, Leon Allen, they look good."

The 6-foot, 195 pound running back draws a lot of comparisons from coaches to former Hilltopper Antonio Andrews, now with the Tennessee Titans.

Trigg's rushed for 1,443 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2014 according to, with one regular season game left (vs. Elizabethtown) before the KHSAA playoffs begin, where he might face another WKU commit in the second round.

"I've been talking to Bryant Pirtle too, we talk about coming down there next year and working hard," Trigg said. "We'll probably play each other in the second round."

As far as his college recruitment, Trigg is as solid as they come.

"I haven't taken any other visits," he said. "WKU's been it for me."
