Vegas line: The Rebels are listed as an 8.5-point favorite, as of Friday afternoon.
Kenpom model: Ole Miss is ranked No. 73 nationally on Kenpom.com, while WKU is No. 144 overall. Kenpom’s system likes the Rebels by 9, giving the Gophers an 82 percent chance to win.
Opponent roster highlights: Guards Stefan Moody (14.0), Jarvis Summers (12.1), and Ladarius White (11.9) are a trio of double-digit scorers for the Rebels. Moody only averages 24 minutes a game, but takes 34 percent of the team’s shots when he’s in the rotation, the 37th highest individual rate nationally. Summers is having a tough shooting year so far from the point guard spot, but averages 3.5 assists a game, and only 1.3 turnovers.
Looking at the Rebels’ team profile, they’re very well-rounded, ranking in the top 85 nationally in both offensive and defensive efficiency. They’re not strong shooters--a team effective field goal percentage of 46.1 percent ranks No. 249 nationally. But they offset that by limiting turnovers and doing a decent job on the offensive glass. On defense, they typically hold their opponents to poor shooting numbers, especially on 2’s (40.0 percent—24th best rate nationally.)
