The Western Kentucky University football program has 14 verbal commitments in the Class of 2016. Here’s a look at how those prospects fared this weekend:
Josh Anderson, Ruskin, Fla., Lennard: Anderson had 5 tackles, one caused fumble, one safety and one forced fumble in a 46-13 win over Spoto.
Jessie Britt, RB, Auburndale, Fla.: No individual stats but Auburndale lost 22-0 to Winter Haven.
Dee Cain, Athlete, Caldwell County: Cain ran six times for 17 yards and one TD and caught two passes for 24 yards and another TD, while also scoring a two-point conversion, recovering a fumble and getting three tackles in a 48-19 win over Franklin-Simpson.
Kenny Cooper, OL, Calhoun, Ga., Sonoraville: Cooper’s team couldn’t get much going in a 9-7 loss to Model.
Chris Cotto, WR, Hallandale, Fla.: No individual stats but Hallandale won 34-26 over Cedar Grove.
Roger Cray, CB, Lake City, Fla., Columbia: No individual stats but Columbia beat Gainesville 59-37.
Steven Duncan, QB, Summerville, S.C., Ashley Ridge: Duncan completed 20 of 26 passes for 320 yards and five TDs as Ashley Ridge beat James Island 42-39.
John Hines, DE, Montgomery, Ala., Park Crossing: Hines was selected as the Overall and Defensive Player of the Game in a 24-6 win over Lanier. He had 11 tackles, including 9 solos, one sack that resulted in a safety and one other quarterback hurry.
Seth Joest, OL, Woodford County: Joest helped open holes for a running game that had 483 yards on the ground in a 48-20 win over West Jessamine.
Tyler King, RB, Fort Meade, Fla.: King carried 21 times for 179 yards and two TDs in a 21-12 win over Hardee.
Lamarius Kinslow, TE/LB, Fern Creek: Winslow had three catches for 46 yards and one TD and finished with nine tackles in a 28-18 loss to Manual.
Jordan Meredith, OL, Bowling Green: Meredith helped open holes for an offense that gained 350 yards, including 207 on the ground, in a 55-14 win over Christian County.
Drew O’Bryan, LB, Ashland: O’Bryan’s individual state were not available from a 41-21 win over Raceland.
Anthony Robinson, Athlete, Frankfort: Robinson was the first commitment in the ’16 class for WKU. He’s sidelined for the season after an ankle injury in the opening game against Paris.
