Western Kentucky and Vanderbilt will start a three-game series on Thursday night with the 2015 season opener when the teams tangle on the gridiron in Nashville, Tenn.
Vandy will travel to play in Bowling Green next season before WKU returns to Nashville in 2017.
The two programs don't have a ton of history but they have played three times before, all in the 1930s. Western Kentucky only scored six points in the three combined meetings, dropping the most recent game 12-0 in 1938.
WKU comes off an 8-5 season and a win in the Bahamas Bowl, whole Vandy was 3-9 last season.
The Toppers started off in Las Vegas as a double-digit underdog in the game but are currently 2-point favorites.
