The Western Kentucky University football program has 14 verbal commitments in the Class of 2016. Here’s a look at how those prospects fared this weekend:
Josh Anderson, Ruskin, Fla., Lennard: Anderson and his Lennard team had a week off. Lennard plays at Tampa King this week.
Jessie Britt, RB, Auburndale, Fla.: No individual stats but Auburndale lost 35-6 to Lakeland.
Dee Cain, Athlete, Caldwell County: Cain had a sensational game, rushing 11 times for 87 yards and three touchdowns while catching three passes for 16 yards, scoring a two-point conversion and getting two tackles in a 49-35 over North Hardin.
Kenny Cooper, OL, Calhoun, Ga., Sonoraville: The Phoenix scored 22 points in the second half to get the first victory of the season in beating Rockmart 32-14.
Chris Cotto, WR, Hallandale, Fla.: Cotto had a big 24-yard catch to inside the red zone early as Hallandale beat Dillard 41-14.
Roger Cray, CB, Lake City, Fla., Columbia: Cray had 5 tackles and two caused fumbles as Columbia beat Lincoln 23-14.
Steven Duncan, QB, Summerville, S.C., Ashley Ridge: Duncan was 21 of 27 passing for 326 yards and two touchdowns as Ashley Ridge beat Wando 34-20.
John Hines, DE, Montgomery, Ala., Park Crossing: Hines was selected as the Defensive Player of the Game in a 21-7 win over Dothan. He had nine tackles, three tackles for a loss, a sack and one quarterback hurry.
Seth Joest, OL, Woodford County: Joest helped open holes for a running game that had 276 yards but the Yellowjackets lost 56-35 to Franklin County.
Tyler King, RB, Fort Meade, Fla.: King rushed for 220 yards and averaged 12.9 yards a carry, scoring five TDs, in a 48-0 win over Tenoroc on Friday.
Lamarius Kinslow, TE/LB, Fern Creek: Winslow had five catches for 86 yards and two TDs and finished with eight tackles in a 48-12 win over Moore.
Jordan Meredith, OL, Bowling Green: Bowling Green only rushed for 73 yards in a 45-19 loss to St. Xavier.
Drew O’Bryan, LB, Ashland: O’bryan had double-digit tackles and two catches for 67 yards and one TD in a 26-25 win over George Washington, W. Va.
Anthony Robinson, Athlete, Frankfort: Robinson was the first commitment in the ’16 class for WKU. He’s sidelined for the season after an ankle injury in the opening game against Paris.
