It's a short series between the two schools who are now conference foes.
But it's also a series dominated by Louisiana Tech to this point. The Bulldogs have won three of four meetings with the Toppers and outscored them 107-36. The Bulldogs whipped the Toppers 59-10 last season in Ruston, La.
Western Kentucky won the first meeting between the two schools, winning 20-7 in Bowling Green. But the Bulldogs won in 1940 and then downed WKU 34-0 in the 1973 national championship game.
And then came last season, the last loss by the Toppers. Since the defeat on Nov. 1, Western Kentucky won five games to end last season and beat Vanderbilt 14-12 last week to open the new campaign.
In the loss last season, Louisiana Tech outscored the Toppers 42-3 in the second and third quarters and finished with 507 total yards of offense. Brandon Doughty threw four interceptions and Western had just 297 total yards of offense.
Western was 5-1 last season and is 8-3 in the past two seasons at home.
