Western Kentucky has put up some major numbers this season on offense.
And now one of the players that has put up many of those numbers has landed a major national award. Taywan Taylor has been named a semifinalist for the prestigious Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top wide receiver.
It's the first time a WKU player has been honored as a semifinalist for the award. The award will narrow the list from 10 to three next week and the winner will be announced next month.
Taylor is an elite wide receiver for the Toppers.
He currently ranks ninth in FBS for receicing yards with 1,051 and yards per game at 105.1. He's also fourth in FBS in receiving touchdowns with 13 and is one of just four players with at least 1,000 receiving yards and 13 TDs.
Taylor is just the second WKU player in history to surpass 1,000 yards in one season.
The Toppers play at Florida International on Saturday.
