A look back at the series between Western Kentucky and Florida International prior to Saturday's game

WKUInsider will provide a weekly look at the series between Western Kentucky University and that week's opponent. So, this week the Toppers will travel to Miami to take on Florida International at FIU Stadium on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

It's the ninth meeting between Western Kentucky University and Florida International.

The two teams will meet in Miami at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with a 4-4 record in the series. But Western Kentucky is 2-3 at FIU Stadium and the Toppers have won two in a row in the series.

Western Kentucky won the last meeting in the series, 14-6 on Oct. 27 of 2012 when Antonio Andrews scored the game-winning TD with 2:24 left in the game. The Toppers had nine sacks in that contest.

WKU also won in 2011 in Bowling Green 10-9.

The only other victories in the series for WKU cam 56-7 in the first meeting - 2002 and 35-14 in 2003.

Florida International won four in a row from 2005-10.
