First national ranking in a decade for WKU

WKU ranked for first time in FBS era

Following its 45-28 win over Southern Miss in the Conference USA Championship, WKU football checks in at No. 25 in the latest rankings by the Associated Press.

The ranking is the first for the Hilltoppers program in its FBS era and first ranking in a decade, last appearing in a national poll in 2005. WKU also received 55 votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll, placing them just one spot out of the top 25.

WKU, now 11-2 overall and 8-0 in C-USA play, will make its second consecutive bowl appearance.  WKU will hold a bowl announcement press conference at 3:00p.m. on Sunday.
