WKU connected on just 2 of 18 three-point attempts

WKU couldn't overcome first half struggles or 2 of 18 from beyond the three-point arc against Louisville

Winners of two straight heading into Saturday afternoon's game at Louisville, Western Kentucky struggled throughout the first half and didn't connect on a three-point attempt until seven minutes remained in the game, falling 78-56 to the 19th-ranked Cardinals.

The Hilltoppers managed just 16 first half points, trailing 34-16 at the break.  An early second half run trimmed the hosts lead to seven with 14:34 remaining in the game, but couldn't get any closer.

Fredrick Edmond led WKU with 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Justin Johnson added 10 points and 6 rebounds.  The Hilltoppers, who shot 41 percent from the floor, connected on just 11 percent from beyond the arc and 50 percent from the free thow line.
