Western Kentucky caps off 12-win season with a 45-35 victory over South Florida in the Miami Beach Bowl

MIAMI - Western Kentucky capped a historic season with a memorable Miami Beach Bowl victory. The Hilltoppers rallied from a 14-0 deficit to beat South Florida 45-35 before 21,712 fans at Marlins Park on Monday.

Brandon Doughty finished his career at Western Kentucky with a memorable performance and helped the Toppers end a fantastic season with 12 wins and a 45-35 victory over South Florida in the Miami Beach Bowl.

Doughty threw for 461 yards and three touchdowns as No. 25 Western Kentucky rallied for its second consecutive bowl victory.

Doughty finished the season with 5,055 yards for the Hilltoppers (12-2) and ended his career at WKU with 12,855 yards and 111 touchdowns.

While Doughty ended his career, it was Ace Wales who ended the game for WKU. He scored on a 42-yard run with 5:09 left in the game to put the bowl out of reach for the Bulls.
