In addition to welcoming another impressive group of signee's to the WKU roster, head coach Jeff Brohm will also have a handful of eligible FBS transfers to further bolster his depth chart, experience and leadership.
After transferring from USF prior to the start of the 2015 season, quarterback Mike White is now eligible are set to compete for the vacant spot behind center. White was a two-year starter for the Bulls, completing 215-of-417 of his pass attempts for 2,722 yards with 11 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He started five games as a true freshman for USF.
Also joining the QB race will be Louisville transfer Tyler Ferguson, who also spent a season a Penn State, appearing in five games for the Nittany Lions. He spent his freshman season at College of the Sequoias where he broke the school season records with 2,614 passing yards and 199 completions.
A pair of graduate transfers from Louisville, linebackers Keith Brown and Nick Dawson are expected to fill voids created by graduation. Brown earned Freshman All-American honors as an inside linebacker. He spent the past two seasons playing on the outside, but figures to man the middle for the Hilltoppers this fall. Dawson-Brents was a frequent reserve for the Cardinals. He and Brown were both U.S. Army All-Americans as high school seniors.
While not factored in a recruiting class ranking, this quartet are certainly difference makers.
