Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge defensive tackle Jalen Madden, who committed to Jeff Brohm's program during his official visit last weekend, has signed with Western Kentucky.
The 6-foot-3, 320-pound three-star Madden, who also played along the offensive front, also drew scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Tulane and others, with Georgia Tech and LSU also among those expressing an interest.
During his time visiting with the WKU coaching staff, who he said were "very excited" to land his verbal pledge, Madden's expectations are to not only play as a true freshman, but to make his presence felt as a rookie.
"They are talking about me coming in next year and making an impact," he said.
Madden totaled 37 tackles, 6.5 for a loss, including a pair of sacks earning second Team All-State and Super 11 Tuscasloosa honors.
