Cape Coral, Fla., Island Coast High School quarterback Kory Curtis has made a few unofficial visits this week to colleges, including a stop at Western Kentucky University on Monday.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Curtis watched the Toppers practice and chatted with the coaches.
"I loved the Brohm brothers," Curtis said of head coach Jeff Brohm and quarterbacks coach Brian Brohm. "They are really great guys and they run a great practice. I could see myself playing there."
Curtis also visited Louisville, North Carolina, Cincinnati and Appalachian State and said he expects to make trips soon to Miami, South Florida and Florida Atlantic, while he's also hearing from Wake Forest, Duke, Central Florida, East Carolina, Tennessee and others.
A strong-armed pro-style quarterback, Curtis completed 85 of 170 passes for 1,250 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He was selected as the Polk County Dream Team quarterback and also made four field goals, kicked 11 extra points, averaged 38 yards on punts, averaged 35 yards on kickoffs and had three rushing touchdowns.
A multi-year starter, Curtis already has throw for 3,708 yards and 42 touchdowns during his career.
