Roswell, Ga., running back Sheldon Evans attended WKU's spring game

Three-star running back Sheldon Evans spoke with about his recent visit to The Hill

Roswell, Ga., running back Sheldon Evans was among the talented group of recruits that made a visit to WKU for the program's annual Red-White game this past weekend.

A three-star prospect, Evans currently holds a scholarship offer from WKU and the trip was his first to Bowling Green.  He spent time visiting the campus and football facilities and meeting with coaches, as well as take in the Hilltoppers spring game from the sidelines.

"I love the campus and love what I saw at the spring game," said Evans.

Evans is the type of back that fit into Jeff Brohm's high-octane offense.  He has the ability to run through the tackles and explode when he hits a hole, while also showing the patience for a seam to open when running around the edge.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound prospect rushed for over 1,900 yards in helping Roswell to the Georgia 6A title game.  Evans, who garnered All-Area and All-State honors as a junior, also holds offers from Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota, Tulane and others.

With spring drills getting under way, Evans has no other current plans to visit other schools, but he does anticipate returning to The Hill later this fall.

"I will for sure be back for a game," he said.
