Dalton, Ga., High School running back Ahmaad Tanner enjoyed his time at Western Kentucky's camp; talks about his experience and recruitment

Western Kentucky University's football staff had a ton of solid prospects on campus for camp last weekend, including an under-the-radar running back from Dalton, Ga. - Ahmaad Tanner.

Ahmaad Tanner doesn't have any scholarship offer right now, but has the numbers that turn college coaches heads.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Tanner was at Western Kentucky University's camp on Saturday and said he hopes one of those coaches head he turned was new Hilltopper running backs coach Chris Barclay.

"It went very well there," Tanner said. "I learned a lot of new moves to add to my game from coach Barclay.

"I think I did really good there but I know that I also have a lot of room to improve."

Tanner was an All-Area selection last season as a junior at Christian Heritage School. He rushed for 1,126 yards - 6.9 yards a carry - and 19 touchdowns and also had around 300 yards receiving on the season.

While he has transferred to Dalton High School, Tanner said he expects the numbers to be even better this season.

Tanner runs a 4.6 40-yard dash and has a 30-inch vertical leap. He's a prospect to watch for the Hilltoppers.
