Franklin-Simpson lineman Cole Kirby is hoping for a Western Kentucky offer after performing well at camp last weekend

Western Kentucky University had a ton of in-state talent on campus last weekend for camp. One of the top in-state linemen in attendance was Franklin-Simpson's Cole Kirby, who is hoping for an offer from the Toppers.

Franklin-Simpson High School has one of the best Class of 2017 linemen - Cole Kirby.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Kirby already has seven offers but performed well enough to maybe land one from Western Kentucky University last weekend at camp. Kirby said an offer from the Toppers would change things.

"They'd be near the top, that's for sure," Kirby said. "They have a really good coaching staff.

"I felt like I did pretty good overall at the camp and the coaches (from WKU) told me they would be in touch with me."

Kirby was a first-team All-Sky performer last season and was named honorable mention All-State after his junior season. He helped Franklin-Simpson to an 8-5 mark last season in Class 4-A.

While he's waiting on word from WKU, Kirby already has offers from Air Force, Charlotte, Eastern Kentucky, Marshall, Navy, Southeast Missouri and Bowling Green. He's also been hearing from Purdue, Army, Eastern Michigan, Tennessee Tech and others.

WKU Insider will keep you posted on the recruitment of Kirby.
