On the heels of landing a commitment from five-star center Mitchell Robinson, WKU head coach Rick Stansbury continues to receive great news on the recruiting front.
Utilizing personal relationships built during his prior coaching stops, Stansbury has quickly built significant momentum in recruiting. The Kentucky native has spent nearly every minute focused on improving visibility and interest with highly-rated prospects since taking over the Hilltopper program in late March and the long hours are proving fruitful.
On Wednesday afternoon, he landed his first commitment in the 2017 class in Robinson, the nation's No. 11 prospect, then minutes later was named a favorite with four-star small forward Galen Alexander.
The 6-foot-6, 190-pound athlete from Lafayette, La., announced his list of seven finalists via the social media app Twitter shortly after Robinson's announcement.
Robinson is rated as the No. 67 prospect nationally by Scout.com and is the No. 16 small forward. He's the No. 3 small forward in the South region and tops in his home state.
