For the second straight day, Western Kentucky University has landed a key prospect from the state of Georgia.
Jeff Brohm and his staff landed a commitment on Sunday evening from Buford, Ga., Lanier High School three-star linebacker Juwuan Jones. He had 13 scholarship offers on the table before announcing his commitment on Twitter.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Jones also had offers from Wisconsin, Southern Mississippi, Air Force, Tulane, Troy, Navy, Mercer, Ball State, Army, Miami of Ohio and Georgia Southern among others.
As a sophomore, Jones had 85 tackles, including eight tackles for a loss and a force fumble before a junior season with 120 tackles, eight tackles for a loss and two interceptions.
Jones is ranked as the No. 52 inside linebacker in the country and No. 7 in the state of Georgia.
He's the 11th commitment in the Class of 2017 for the Toppers, but just the second on the defensive side of the ball.
