Western Kentucky head coach Jeff Brohm opened his first season without record-setting quarterback Brandon Doughty, but his offense didn't miss a bit against Rice on Thursday night.

Making his first start for the Hilltoppers, quarterback Mike White threw for 517 yards and three touchdowns to lead WKU to a dominating victory over Rice.  The win lifts WKU to 1-0 overall and in Conference USA play.

The offense gained 649 total yards, while the Hilltopper defense held the visitors to just 288 yards.
