Pancake Thomas - a transfer from Hartford - has committed to Western Kentucky and is eligible to play this season for the Toppers

Hartford transfer Pancake Thomas has committed to Western Kentucky University. He averaged 18.9 points a game last season for Hartford.

Hartford transfer guard Pancake Thomas is headed to Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Thomas will be the third graduate transfer to join the Toppers roster as new coach Rick Stansbury has had to rebuild the WKU roster, especially in the backcourt.

A second-team All-American East selection last season, Thomas averaged 18.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists and led Hartford with 36 steals. It was his only season at Hartford.

Thomas played his first two seasons at New Mexico. He is a native of Baton Rouge, La.

He will be the sixth newcomer on the WKU roster, including Providence transfer Junior Lomomba and Washington State transfer Que Johnson. T.J. Howard, Damari Parris and Marty Leahy are freshmen on the roster.

Stansbury also has Buffalo transfer Lamonte Bearden and Syracuse transfer Moustapha Diagne, who will sit out this season.
