16 home games highlight the 2016-17 schedule

The 2016-17 WKU basketball schedule includes the Global Sports Classic

Western Kentucky men's basketball released its 2016-17 schedule on Friday.

The slate will begin with a pair of exhibitions in early November before officially tipping of the 2016-17 season on Nov. 12 when it hosts Alabama State as part of the Global Basketball Classic.  The event also includes a home contest on Nov. 16 against Jacksonville State before continuing in Las Vegas on Nov. 25-26 where the Hilltoppers could potentially meet Washington and either TCU or UNLV.

Following the trip to Las Vegas, WKU will remain on the road for five consecutive games before returning to E.A. Diddle Arena on Dec. 21 to host Ohio.

A trip to rival Belmont on Nov. 19 and a home game against North Carolina A&T precede the trip out west.

The schedule features 16 home games.  The Hilltoppers will begin Conference USA play on the road, visiting Florida Atlantic on New Year's Eve and FIU on Jan. 2.  Charlotte visits Jan. 5 for the team's first home league contest.
