Western Kentucky University has never hosted an SEC foe in Bowling Green.
But that will change this weekend when Vanderbilt visits Houchens Stadium for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday. The Toppers will be looking to extend an 11-game home winning streak and to win two in a row against Vanderbilt.
In the series with Vandy, the Toppers trail 3-1.
The Commodores won games in 1931, '32 and '38 before the series was stalled until last season when Jeff Brohm's Toppers traveled to Nashville for the season-opener and came away with a 14-12 decision.
Joe Brown stopped Nathan Marcus about one yard short of a two-point conversion that would have sent the game to overtime with 33 seconds left to get the victory for the Toppers.
The Toppers only had 246 yards of total offense in the game last season but still claimed its third win all-time against an SEC foe. Western Kentucky enters the game at 3-16 all-time against the SEC.
Vandy has already lost to South Carolina (13-10) and Georgia Tech (38-7), while beating Middle Tennessee (47-24) this season.
