Saturday's highly-anticipated home contest against Vanderbilt will serve as one the largest in-season recruiting efforts for the Western Kentucky program. Dozens of prospects will ascend on Bowling Green this weekend to make an unofficial visit and while that will be an impressive group, there is one that will be taking an even closer look at what WKU has to offer.
Holmes (Miss.) Community College defensive back Dante Wigley will be on The Hill as an official visitor. He'll spend a few days touring both the school and the football program's facilities, meeting with members of the coaching staff and enjoying the excitement at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Wigley has appeared in three games for Holmes, registering nine tackles, including one for a loss. He's also recorded three pass break-ups.
A native of Carrollton, Ga., Wigley originally committed to Georgia Tech in June 2014 over scholarship offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Mississippi State and Troy and was a member of the Yellow Jackets 2015 class. A First Team All-State selection as a senior, he spent his first year at Georgia Tech as a redshirt and working on the scout team.
Interest from the Bearcats and Bulldogs has returned, with WKU, Ohio, Charlotte and Western Carolina among those extending an offer.
