Western Kentucky has added another to its 2017 recruiting class.
Warner Robins, Ga., receiver Amari Colbert announced his decision to become a Hilltopper via the social media platform Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.
Colbert's relationship with the WKU coaching staff was among the difference-makers when it came to decision time. Hilltoppers passing-game coordinator and receivers coach Bryan Ellis frequently expressed their desire to have Colbert join the WKU high-powered offense.
"Coach Ellis says he loves my playmaker ability and my size," he told WKU Insider. "He says I'm the guy to come in and make plays and he likes that."
Through eight games, Colbert leads Houston County with 49 receptions for 863 yards and 16 touchdowns, which is good for fifth best in school history.
He also considered scholarship offers from Old Dominion, Ohio and others.
