Western Kentucky safety Branden Leston was named a first-team All-American as a special teamer by Pro Football Focus. Several WKU teammates on the second team.

Western Kentucky senior Branden Leston picked up a major honor on Tuesday.

Leston was named a first-team All-American for the position as 'special teamer' by Pro Football Focus. The website said no player "in the nation made more special teams tackles than Leston did."

The website pointed out he made 14 tackles on special teams, noting "even better, he didn't miss a tackle on special teams all year."

Leston was joined on the All-American teams by several WKU teammates.

Senior linebacker Keith Brown, lineman Forrest Lamp and slot receiver Nick Norris were all named second-team All-Americans.

All-C-USA team

Six WKU players were named to the first-team All Conference-USA team.

Leston, Lamp and Brown were joined on the first team by wide receiver Taywan Taylor, lineman Max Halpin and returner Nacarius Fant.

Quarterback Mike White and running back Ace Wales were among the second-team All-Conference players.
