White comes to WKU following four seasons with NC State

Mike Sanford announced the addition of Clayton White to the Hilltopper staff

A former WKU assistant is returning to The Hill as a new member of Mike Sanford's first-year staff.

Named as the program's defensive coordinator, Clayton White was part of Willie Taggart's 2010 staff that also featured Sanford and recently announced safeties coach and recruiting coordinator Jami DeBerry.

White returns to Bowling Green after spending the last four seasons at his alma mater NC State where he served as the Wolfpack's special teams coordinator and safeties coach.  He also served as special teams coordinator and running backs coach for two seasons at Connecticut.

"I am very excited to bring Clayton White back to The Hill to run our defense,” Sanford said in a release. “His experience at the highest levels of football has allowed him to cut his teeth under some of the best defensive minds in the game. We will play a sound and aggressive defensive scheme under his direction."
