Hilltoppers head coach Mike Sanford has dished out a number of new scholarship offers

Western Kentucky head coach Mike Sanford has been one of the busiest people on The Hill since arriving on campus nearly a few weeks ago.  Sanford has kept a hectic schedule while compiling a new group of assistant coaches, making public appearances and meeting with media.

While doing all he can to guide the current program, the rookie coach is also busy behind the scenes focusing on the 2017 recruiting class.  Introducing himself to those committed to the Hilltoppers and reaching out to current and new prospects.

In recent days Sanford has spent time using video chat applications, such as FaceTime, to speak with and extend schlorship offers to a handful of recruits.  Here's a look at some of those that recently picked up a WKU offer:

Tight End Kris Leach
6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end has collected scholarship offers from Ohio, Old Dominion, Temple and others.


Safety Tariq Carpenter
6-foot-2 safety also holds offers from Georgia Tech, UCF and Georgia Southern.


Tight End Mitchell Lewis
A 6-foot-6 tight end that is effective in the passing game has offers from Ball State, Buffalo, Missouri State, Wyoming and others.


Offensive Tackle Jacob Bolton
The 6-foot-6, 305-pound lineman includes Maryland, Iowa State and Southern Miss among his scholarship offers.


Defensive End Melton Brown
The 6-foot-4, 265-pound prospect is a force along the defensive front.  He holds more than a dozen offers including Air Force, Georgia Southern, Navy, Southern Miss and UTSA.


Tight End John Samuel Shenker
Also a standout baseball players, Shenker is a proven pass-catching tight end.  Chattanooga, Georgia State and Louisiana-Monroe are among his other scholarship offers.


Offensive Tackle Bryce Foxworth
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound lineman also holds offers from Akron, Temple, Eastern Kentucky and others.


Offensive Tackle Curtis McCleondon
6-foot-7, 295-pound lineman has picked up scholarship offers from Georgia Southern, Middle Tennessee State, Ohio and others
