All three WKU signees in the 2107 recruiting class are among the McDonald's All-American nominations

All three members of Western Kentucky's 2017 recruiting class have been nominated for the McDonald's All-American contest

While the Western Kentucky program is a tradition-rich program that ranks among the nation's leaders in regular-season league titles, 20-win seasons, all-time winning percentage and all-time victories.  One thing that has eluded the Hilltoppers program could change in the coming days when the 2017 McDonald's All-American roster is announced.

The list of nominee's for the prestigious high school all-star event was released on Tuesday and all three WKU signees are present.  While there have been prior nominations in the four decade old game, having an incoming rookie among the final roster has escaped the program.

Five-star center Mitchell Robinson, the highest-rated signee in program history, four-star guard Josh Anderson and three-star guard Taveion Hollingsworth all made the nomination list.

Robinson is rated as the nation's No. 4 center prospect and No. 6 overall by

Anderson checks in as the nation's No. 12 shooting guard and the No. 49 prospect nationally.

A product of Lexington Dunbar, Hollingsworth signed with the Hilltoppers over interest from a number of programs including UAB and Wright State.

The final 24-man roster will be announced during a special program on ESPNU on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 9:30pm. 

The game will be held at the United Center in Chicago, Ill., on March 29.
