Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove defensive end DeAngelo Malone is the latest from the group of official visitors from the recent weekend to commit to Western Kentucky.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect extended his verbal commitment to Hilltoppers head coach Mike Sanford on Monday afternoon.
"I just committed," he told WKU Insider moments after talking with the WKU staff. "I just felt at home and love the coaches and the players that I met."
Malone, who could line up at the end spot or as an outside linebacker, picked up All-State and All-Region honors following a senior season that saw him register 111 total tackles, including 38 stops for a loss and 13.5 sacks.
"I'm hard-working," he said. "The coaches said they expect me to come in and give it my all right away."
Malone joins three other weekend visitors to pledge to WKU. Cole Spencer, Jacquez Sloan and Dionte' Ruffin also committed to the Hilltoppers staff during or shortly after their official visit.
