BIO: Plant City (Fla.) Durant tight end committed to WKU in August and remained pledged during the coaching change. A member of the Tampa Bay HomeTeam 100, Steven Witchoskey lined up as a tight end, H-back and receiver in high school. Also spent time along the offensive line at tackle during his sophomore season before moving to tight end.
RECRUITMENT: FIU, Marshall, South Florida and Troy were among Witchoskey's multiple scholarship offers.
WHY WKU: The opportunity to play in an offense that views the tight end as a multi-use weapon.
EVALUATION: A physical tight end, who has also played as H-back. He's effective in the blocking game and has displayed good hands when catching balls from any spot on the field.
QUOTABLE: "From a 3-point stance to a 2-point to a spot in the backfield," said Witchoskey. "Sanford always says how often he will go with double and triple tights so I'm real excited about that."
BOTTOM LINE: WKU has a need at tight end and the incoming freshman will have an opportunity to help fill the void during fall camp.
