BIO: Dallas (Ga.) Paulding County athlete Dionte Ruffin is a two-way star that can play on either side of the ball on the college level. The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect starred on both sides of the ball for Paulding County, clocking time at wide receiver, cornerback and returning kicks. He totaled 58 tackles and had an interception from his cornerback position.
RECRUITMENT: Ruffin also considered Western Carolina, Middle Tennessee and Marshall before committing to WKU.
QUOTABLE: "I felt the family atmosphere as soon as I got there. I know that I will become a better man after being there for a few years and getting my degree."
EVALUATION: Great speed and vision has helped Ruffin be a difference-maker at multiple spots. He has a great eye for the ball on defense and when playing at receiver or in the return game, Ruffin quickly see's an opening and breaks through for a big play.
BOTTOM LINE: The WKU coaches told Ruffin to be ready to play, in all phases of the game. His skill set will boost his odds of playing as a true freshman this fall.
