Western Kentucky Class of 2017 Football Class: Signed TE Mik'quan Deane. WKU Insider takes a closer look at the Hilltoppers signee.


BIO:  Northeast Oklahoma A&M tight end Mik'Quan Deane is another signing day announcement that fell WKU's way.  A three-star prospect, Deane, 6-foot-4, 240-pounds, hauled in 22 receptions for 322 yards and tied for the team-lead with four touchdowns catches.

RECRUITMENT:  Deane collected double-digit scholarship offers and trimmed his list to WKU, Oregon and New Mexico before signing with the Hilltoppers.

EVALUATION:  A great pass-catching tight end who runs tight routes and is gifted with very good speed and excellent hands. 

QUOTABLE:  "I loved it all," Deane said of WKU.  "The people, the town, coaching staff, the players on the team."

BOTTOM LINE: Deane is expected to become an immediate impact player for the Hilltoppers this fall.  Getting his signature was a big get for Mike Sanford and his staff.
