Butler County record-setting quarterback Rex Henderson will join the WKU roster

Butler County's record-setting quarterback is headed the The Hill.

Rex Henderson (6'2, 205) announced on Friday that he has accepted a preferred walk-on invitation from the Western Kentucky staff.

As a senior, he finished among the state's top 10 performers in both passing and rushing.  He finished with 2,472 on 165-of-314 throwing, with 29 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.  A dual-threat quarterback, Henderson also registered 162 rush attempts for 1,344 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Henderson, who camped with the Hilltoppers in June, completed his high school career with multiple school records, including career passing yards (7,581).

Also a standout for the Butler County defense, Henderson snagged nine interceptions during his last two seasons of prep ball.

Henderson had collected scholarship offers from fellow in-state programs Morehead State and Murray State, while also garnering interest from Eastern Kentucky, Marshall, Old Dominion, Columbia, Harvard, Brown and Austin Peay.
