Western Kentucky has extended a scholarship offer to Canadian point guard prospect Junior Farquhar.
The 6-foot-2 prospect added the Hilltoppers offer this week, adding to his list that also includes Baylor, New Mexico State and Southern Cal. Tulsa and Virginia Tech are among the others expressing an interest.
Farquhar, who spent last season at John Carroll School in suburban Baltimore, Mary., is now back at Montreal, QC Orangeville Prep where he's averaging nearly a triple-double with over 10 points per game, while also recording nearly seven rebounds and eight assists per outing.
While at John Carroll, Farquhar was evaluated and described as a prospect still developing at the position, something that appears to be rounding into form. The Scout evaluation, which calls him a "high-flyer" also left little doubt that he projects as top-level talent.
"Physically, Farquhar meets all the criteria, and then some, to be a major college point. But he will need to continue to develop his playmaking ability up top, and we want to see more from him as far as vision and instincts and when and where to go with the ball."
