Western Kentucky has made Naples, Fla., wide receiver Wooby Theork a priority for its 2018 recruiting efforts.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect added WKU to his growing list of scholarship offers this week and had the opportunity to visit with head coach Mike Sanford and assistant Steve Spurrier, Jr.
"I was really excited about picking the offer up and I just enjoyed talking to the head coach and offensive coordinator." he told WKU Insider. "They liked how fast I get off the ball and how quick I am."
Last fall Theork proved to be one of the top receiver targets in the Sunshine State. He finished his junior season with 61 receptions for 1,041 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also notched 10 carries for an additional 119 yards and two touchdowns.
Joining WKU on his scholarship list is Arizona, Central Michigan, Eastern Kentucky and Rutgers. The recruiting process will continue to grab his attention and can be overwhelming at times, but Theork has learned to appreciate it.
"I'm really enjoying the process right now it's something I've never expected," he said. "It's a blessing."
While he has no current visit plans, he does hope to make it to Bowling Green in the coming months.
"I'll probably be taking a visit up there this summer."
