Montgomery (Ala.) Lee linebacker Kevontae Ruggs will have many college options when he chooses to make a decision and Western Kentucky will be among them.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect is the younger brother of Alabama signee Henry Ruggs and already holds a scholarship offer from the Crimson Tide, but that hasn't impacted his thought process of where he'll eventually attend.
"It'll play a part, but I want to make sure I look at all my options and choose what's best for me," he said.
WKU became the third school to offer and will get a strong look during the process.
"They told me over a phone call in the morning before school," he said. "I had the same reaction that I have had with my first two offers. I was very happy and excited to receive it. All I can do is just thank God for the all of abilities he has given me."
The Hilltoppers staff remains in frequent contact with Ruggs and is building a healthy relationship with him and his family.
"I've been talking to Coach Martin, and Coach Crum," he told WKU Insider. "The relationship with them is just starting, but it's starting out great. We are always in touch and they are getting closer with the family too."
As a junior, Ruggs recorded 92 tackles and two interceptions for Lee.
South Alabama has also offered, with many others expressing an interest.
