Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Stranahan athlete Maurquel Dillard committed to Western Kentucky on Friday morning

Maurquel Dillard becomes the second member of the WKU 2018 recruiting class

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Stranahan athlete Maurquel Dillard provided some excellent news to the Western Kentucky coaching staff by informing him that he had made the decision to become a Hilltopper.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Dillard confirmed his commitment with WKU Insider.

"I felt like the was the best school for me," he said.  "They were happy that I made the choice to commit to them."

A gifted athlete who has played multiple spots on the field, Dillard has the ability to continue that on the college level.  He's lined up at quarterback, receiver and running back during his prep career.

"They said they are going to use me everywhere," he said.  "They say that I am a play-maker and that they think I can fit there offense."

WKU offered Dillard in March, a moment that he described as "priceless."

He anticipates visiting The Hill this summer.
