Mason, Oh., offensive tackle Eric Miller was offered by the Hilltoppers on Wednesday morning

Western Kentucky is the sixth program to extend a scholarship offer to Mason, Oh., offensive tackle Eric Miller

A trip to Mason, Oh., by Western Kentucky offensive line coach Geoff Dartt resulted in a new scholarship offer for tackle Eric Miller.

Dartt was among a small group of college coaches to visit William Mason High School early Wednesday morning to watch the team's left session and was impressed enough to increase WKU's level of interest in the 6-foot-6, 260-pound offensive lineman.

"I was very excited," Miller told WKU Insider.  "Western Kentucky is a great program. I know they've won back-to-back C-USA titles, won three bowl games in row and have won a lot of games over the last few years."

In addition to WKU, Miler also holds offers from Ohio, Army, Appalachian State, Holy Cross and Eastern Kentucky.  He admits that the rising interest from the college coaches is exciting, he remains focused on improving his abilities and his team.

"Obviously it's exciting, but you know I'm keeping everything in perspective," he said.  "I'm going in everyday focused on getting better and helping our team improve."

Miller also plays basketball for his school, where he fills the role of both power forward and center.  The time spent on the hardwood has assisted him in developing his football skills.

"Basketball is great for working on my feet, being agile and staying conditioned," he explained.  "It definitely translates onto the football field with footwork and blocking in space."

While the Hilltopper offer is fresh, Miller already hopes to visit the WKU campus in the near future.

"Visit wise, still looking into it, but I definitely want to get down there sometime soon."
