On Wednesday, Western Kentucky became the latest to extend a scholarship offer to Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern wide receiver Genuine Potts.
I felt pretty ecstatic when I got the call and they offered," he told WKU Insider. "They're most definitely a contender in my recruiting process."
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Potts also holds offers Appalachian State, Ball State, East Carolina, Jacksonville State, Southern Miss, Troy, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
"The recruiting process is fun," he said. "I'm very grateful to be going through it."
Also a standout at safety for McEachern, Potts relationship with DeBerry, who coaches the Hilltopper safeties, is "very fresh" and growing by the week.
One of the top performers at the Lassiter MVP Camp last summer, Potts impressed scouts with his ability to separate from defenders. His analysis from the event described him as a wideout that "was tough to cover for even the best defensive backs in attendance. Potts caught multiple jump balls over a defender, and was a big-play threat all day with his strong double move."
Potts anticipates visiting Western Kentucky during the summer or fall.
