The Western Kentucky staff has forging a relationship with Brunswick, Ga., defensive back Jaylen Jackson and escalated their interest rapidly by extending a scholarship offer last week.
A 6-foot, 185-pound safety, who also spends time at receiver and returning kicks, Jackson has been in contact with WKU frequently. The rising prospect explains that he assistant head coach Steve Spurrier Jr., "talk to each other every other day."
With scholarship offers from Cincinnati and Wake Forest already in hand, along with interest from in-state programs Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech and others, Jackson told WKU Insider that he "loved" getting the Hilltopper offer.
"I don't know too much about the school yet, but I'm looking forward to learning more," he added.
As a junior, Jackson registered 47 tackles, including 31 solo stops, while also grabbing three interceptions, garnering All-Region honorable mention honors.
