three-star prospect Chris Duarte becomes the seventh member of the 2017 Western Kentucky recruiting class

Troy (N.Y.) Redemption Christian Academy product Chris Duarte has committed to Western Kentucky

Western Kentucky head coach Rick Stansbury has added a seventh member to his already talent-rich 2017 recruiting class in Troy (N.Y.) Redemption Christian Academy's Chris Duarte

The 6-foot-7 small forward committed to the Hilltoppers on Tuesday.

Duarte, a native of the Dominican Republic, was once a member of the Scout 100 before an injury slowed his progress and recruiting process.

Selected to play in the Jordan Brand regional game, Duarte displayed his ability to play with the nation's top prospects.  He poured in 18 points and grabbed five rebounds in the all-star that featured players headed Power 5 conferences.

Duarte plays his AAU ball with the NY Lightning.

He also drew scholarship offers from Central Florida, Providence, Saint Louis, Seton Hall, Temple and others, while also drawing heavy interest from Auburn, Kansas, Syracuse and a host of others.
