The Hilltoppers coaching staff will welcome prospects to campus

The WKU football staff begins its camp season on Sunday

Camp season has arrived for Western Kentucky and head coach Mike Sanford and his staff will welcome numerous prospects to campus this week.

Sunday's initial prospect camp begins a series of camps on The Hill this week.  A Specialists Camp will be held on Wednesday, with a two-day quarterback camp set for the coming weekend.  A skill players camp will be conducted on Saturday.  A second prospect camp will be held in July.

More than 300 attended Sunday's camp.  Here's a look at some of the more notable attendees:

WR Michael Archie : Brentwood Academy (Tenn.)
6'1 receiver that has helped guide Brentwood to multiple state titles and a national ranking. 

QB Garrett Bass : Woodstock (Ga.) High
6'1 quarterback who recently picked up an offer from North Alabama.

OL Ethan Bingham : Paintsville (Ky.) Johnson Central
At 6'6, 300, Bingham recently committed to play for C-USA rival Marshall.

CB Je'Cory Burks : Perry (Ga.) High
5'11, 170 defensive back recently collected an offer from Vanderbilt.

DB Robb Cooper : Georgetown (Ky.) Scott County
6'1, 170 safety from Scott County currently holds offers from Air Force and Morehead State.

WR Jeremiah Childs : Huntsville (Ala.) Wesminster Christian Academy
Also a standout performer in track, the 5'9 Childs has the ability to impact at receiver and special teams.

OL Zack Ferris : Somerset (Ky.) Pulaski County
6'5, 310 offensive lineman holds scholarship offers from Eastern Michigan and Marshall.


OL Jamison Harkness : Munfordville (Ky.) Hart County
Impressive size at 6'5, 270, Harkness is one of the top in-state tackle prospects.  He currently holds an offer from Marshall.

LB Chad Holleran : Frankfort (Ky.) Franklin County
6'3 215 inside linebacker that is seeing his stock rise in recent weeks.

TE Josh Lifson : Louisville (Ky.) Kentucky Country Day
6'3, 220 pass-catching tight end with offers from Air Force, Chattanooga, Morehead State and others.


DB Sultan Williams : Conyers (Ga.) Salem
5'10, 190 defensive back that could play either spot in the secondary.

OL Wesley Woodard : Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Siegel
Has the ability to play multiple spots along the offensive front.

DE Torey Zanders : Monroe (Ga.) George Walton
A priority target for WKU, Zanders holds an offer from the Hilltoppers, along with Appalachian State, Troy and others.
