Hilltoppers Monday Practice Report (Photos)

The Hilltoppers celebrated Labor Day with a couple hours work preparing for the home opener this Saturday against West Virginia Tech.

Head Coach David Elson is a winner that hates to lose no matter who the Hilltoppers play against.

Practice today was intense with priority placed on making corrections, getting better and conditioning.

Coaches and players are not happy with the loss Saturday and are looking forward to playing West Virginia Tech at home this Saturday.

QB David Wolke is going to be fine. He got in some reps today. There is no official word yet on his status for Saturday. Chances are he will play if he physically continues not to have any adverse effects from the head shot he took. Wolke took quite a shot on the second play of the game but gutted it out and led the team down the field. Unfortunately, his injury prevented him from taking another snap against Florida. If the opening drive is any indicator, David Wolke has a bright future ahead of him quarterbacking the Hilltoppers.

Offense and defense worked against each other today.

The Hilltoppers worked on conditioning today.

Just like during camp and summer conditioning, if a player bends over, does not touch the line at the turn around, or slows down or stops before the finish line, the teams starts all over again at zero!

The Hilltoppers will be back on the practice field tomorrow installing the game plan for Saturday's opponent.

Saturday's game, September 8th, is the home opener for WKU. The opponent is West Virginia Tech and game time is set for 4:00 PM central.
