Spring practice schedule and notable lifts from the Night of Champions.


The Night of the Champions was an extremely successful event. Fans were definitely into it from start to finish and the Hilltoppers did not disappoint.

Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Jim Nowell was exremely pleased with the players performance. Coach Nowell is one of the best in the business and you can rely on the Hilltoppers being physically ready and well capable of competing for four quarters.


Split Jerk:  OL Cody Hughes 415, OL Zach Ray 325

Power Clean:  OL Greg Ryan broke school record with a 430lbs hang clean.

TE David Miller, DB Orlando Misaalefua, RB Andrew McCloud all power cleaned 335 lbs.
Bench press: RB Marell Booker 375 lbs and DL Kyle Anderson  375 lbs.
Squat: DL Red Johnson  625lbs, RB Tyrell Hayden and LB L.J. Harbison both squatted 565 lbs.

Spring practice is here! It has been a long hard winter for diehard Hilltopper football fans but tomorrow we will all be able to feed our football addictions. Fans can make plans to come out and watch the Hilltoppers in action.  Coach Elson allows practice to be open to the public. If you happen to make it out for a practice, you will have a great time. The Hilltopper football program is without a doubt, fan friendly.


Mark it on your calendars in red, APRIL 19, 2008, RED Vs WHITE SPRING GAME.  The spring game is the first glimpse of the 2008 edition of the Hilltoppers. So, show up early, tailgate and have as much fun as possible because we will not get to have this kind of fun again until August 30th.

You can look forward to daily practice updates this spring as soon as possible following practice.  Be looking out tomorrow evening, for a breakdown of WKU's offensive personnel, who we lost, who we have back, and of course an outlook for next season. The following day will bring a breakdown on the defensive side of the ball and then special teams.
