Rost was voted the MVP of the MAC Tournament and a First Team All-MAC selection in 2003. She averaged 19.4 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. She helped WMU to a 20-12 overall record, the MAC Championship title, and an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.
"Casey Rost is most deserving of this honor from the MAC," said Ron Stewart. "She established herself two years ago in 2001-02 when she was overwhelmingly chosen as the MAC Freshman of the Year. She was a very important part of the group that led this team to a MAC Championship in 2002-03. I feel she is truly one of the best in the MAC West, the Midwest, and the country."
